One month inspection of Honda’s new Civic Type R RBP (FL5) completed. Current situation of reduction of free dealer service and oil price increase, and forecast of minor changes rumored to be in fall 2026 | Creative Trend

Before I knew it, two months had passed since my Civic Type R Racing Black Package (FL5) was delivered.

Honda New Civic Type R Racing Black Package (FL5) was delivered to me in March 2026 two months ago.

Although the mileage was over 1,500km, which is not that long, it was used regularly during Golden Week (GW).

Since the FL5 RBP was due for a one-month inspection after delivery, I decided to request an inspection at the Honda dealer I always use.

In addition to this, I would like to check whether there is any new information regarding FL5 obtained from the Honda dealer that I always use.

●Vacuuming inside the car (free service)

The inspection contents are as follows.

The one-month post-delivery inspection is included as a service when purchasing a new car or signing a contract, so the inspection fee is essentially free.

Services that were previously free are now paid

However, on the other hand, perhaps due to the recent rise in prices and labor costs, it is true that the scope of services is narrowing, with some services that used to be free now having to be paid.

Specifically, hand car washes, which used to be a free service during inspections, have all been changed to paid services in order to improve work efficiency and reduce the burden on mechanics.

When it comes to vacuuming the inside of the car, although it is free for the driver’s and passenger’s feet, it is now a paid service for the second row, the luggage space, and the second and subsequent rows of minivans.

There is no shortage of engine oil so far, but the price has also increased.

Next, although the engine oil was not replaced during this one-month inspection, there have been no problems with oil shortages that have been talked about so far.

However, it seems to be true that the cost of engine oil is increasing, and it seems that the price will increase by 10% from around February 2026.

1 month inspection + car wash took about 40 minutes

Next, regarding the time it took for this inspection, it was completed in about 40 minutes, including washing the car.

The inspection was done on a weekday, so there weren’t many vehicles to be serviced on that day, but it was still quick and took less than an hour.

Thank you very much for always responding politely and quickly.
