Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara launch coming soon, all set to impress international markets

Maruti Suzuki is all set to make its big move into the the electric vehicle (EV) segment. with its first ever electric SUV, the e-Vitara. The company is gearing up to launch this much awaited model in India by Decemberwhich marks a new chapter in its journey towards sustainable mobility.

An important milestone for India’s EV ecosystem

The road to the e-Vitara’s launch began then Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Maruti Suzuki’s local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the company’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat on August 26. During the same event, he flagged off the export of the e-Vitara, establishing an important milestone in India’s growing EV ecosystem.

On 1 SeptemberMaruti Suzuki started shipping the e-Vitara Pipavav Port in Gujarattransmits over 2,900 units to 12 European countries – including Great Britain, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria and Belgium. This strong export push clearly demonstrates the brand’s confidence in the global appeal and quality of the e-Vitara.

Driveline dimensions and options

e-Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in widthand 1,640 mm in heightwith one 2,700 mm wheelbasewhich offers a solid and spacious design. It has one 3-in-1 electrical system that integrates motor, inverter and transmission in one compact unit for improved efficiency.

Buyers will be able to choose between two battery options:

  • ONE 49 kWh battery with one front engine produces 144 hp and 189 Nm of torque.
  • ONE 61 kWh battery with a more powerful one 174 hp motor generating the same torque.

For enthusiasts looking for extra performance, the larger battery is expected to offer one four wheel drive (AWD) version which adds a 65 hp rear enginewhich delivers a combined output of 184 hp and 300 Nm. This variant could offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge, making it ideal for both city driving and long journeys.

Interior and features

Inside Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara promises a premium and feature-rich cabin. The design mixes technology with comfort, creating a modern and inviting atmosphere. Highlights include a digital cockpit, floating console with two decks, soft two-tone surfacesand multicolored ambient lighting.

The SUV also comes with one solid glass sunroofa newly designed steering wheeland one 10.1 inch infotainment touchscreen paired with one 10.25 inch digital driver display. Connection functions such as wireless smartphone integration and one Harman tuned sound system add to the overall luxury experience.

Safety and build quality

Maruti Suzuki has put a lot of emphasis on security with e-Vitara. The body uses over 50% high strength steelthat offer excellent rigidity and crash protection. The model also comes with an advanced battery safety system to ensure stability in all driving conditions.

Standard safety equipment includes seven airbags (including a driver’s knee airbag), electronic parking brake, all disc brakes, e-Call emergency functionand one tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). On top of that, the e-Vitara will offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) for extra protection and driver safety.
